The changing face of Lagos, 234NEXT Posted by TOLA ADENLE, Oct 01 2010
I decided to post this for those who might have missed it. Recently, I revisited a story from 2010 Independence Anniversary which I had read and blogged online and to my surprise, the picture used had been replaced with picture of a Nigerian flag! Well, here is a link to the story, http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5625171-146/story.csp, and below is my blog and – best of all – a picture that tells many stories.

NIGERIA TO SELL & PACKAGE ‘LOST GLORY’ By Joe Aibozaw, WAZOBIA REPORTS Abuja -
A computer software program commissioned to help identify areas in which Nigeria’s economy can be diversified has suggested the sale of Past Glory as the Nations next big thing after oil. This outcome has left ministers baffled and they now suspect that the software has malfunctioned. The suppliers of the system which has so far cost Nigeria $50 million dollars in consultancy fees and N500,000 in actual development cost, are however adamant that there is nothing wrong with their software.
To prove its reliability, they fed 50 year old data on China into it and it promptly responded with the recommendation that China should concentrate on the exportation of fake goods. In defending their computer program, the contractors even listed aspects of the Nation’s abundant past glories amongst which was the pioneering position Nigeria achieved in Television broadcasting in Africa, the fact that Nigeria had colour TV before America, and how the Naira was once stronger than the dollar. To save the government from embarrassment of wasting millions on another dead-on-arrival project, the President has now directed all his cabinet ministers to put their ministries to task in coming up with ways to package and sell Nigeria’s abundant past glory.
The CBN governor, though not a minister, has been the first to submit his recommendation. His rather ingenious plan is concentrate on just one sector of the Nation’s past glories and to sell it to just one country. He has, as a result, requested the President’s permission to seek international bidders for the title, “The Giant of Africa.” – Joe Aibozaw http://www.wazobiareports.com/
Dee Bee Wines
Since I posted the story of Dr. Ogutuga’s Dee Bee wines, the first Made In Nigeria Wine featured in my old magazine, EMOTAN - http://emotanafricana.com/2011/09/11/dolapo-ogutuga-starts-nigerias-first-winery/ - there have been questions from a few readers on where they can purchase the products. Well, here below is a very short list but unfortunately, the list comprises only places in Ondo State.
Would that have to do with my being from Ondo State which Ogutuga could not have known about?
