Abuja - News reaching us indicates that the government of President Jonathan Ebele Goodluck has appointed a high-profile panel and charged the members with the urgent task of coming up with suggestions on what to do with former petroleum minister, Prof Tam David-West.

Ever since government announced plans to remove subsidy on petroleum products, the former minister has been sharing with whoever cares to listen, the secrets he learnt about Nigeria's petroleum industry when he was petroleum minister.

Most embarrassingly for government, he carried out a simple analysis of the costs involved in production of petroleum products and this has now gone viral.

His faultless calculation has left egg on the faces of the current petroleum minister, the CBN governor, and the minister of finance because he has exposed their incompetence when it comes to doing simple arithmetic.

But rather than accept that they made a mistake when calculating the value of fuel subsidy, the humiliated officials have attempted to save their own skins by lying to their boss, the president, that it is the former minister's calculations that are wrong because he has gone senile.

Their boss, GEJ, has now taken their advice and set up a panel to make recommendations on what to do with the old professor.

Members of the panel have since been flown to Dubai for a brain-storming session at the Burj Al Arab Hotel.

A budget of $50million dollars has been set aside for their mission that is seen by government as a matter of National security.

Can the Federal Goverment please make the content of David Mark's report public? And also make the basis of objections by the ministers' public that the whole situation may be subjected to peoples' judgement.
