Abuja - A group citing the recently enacted Freedom of Information Bill has asked that the President’s IQ be made public.
Spokesperson for the group that calls itself the ‘Free Naija Group’ argued that it is in the public’s interest that the president’s IQ be made public.
According to him, a ‘normal intelligent’ person has an IQ score of between 90 and 110, while IQ scores above this are considered to be very bright people. Persons with IQ bellow 90 are considered dull.
“We are not saying he should have Einstein’s off-the-chart IQ,” he said, “But if it should be discovered that his IQ is considerably lower than what is deemed normal, wouldn’t you want to know?”
Various parties have criticised the group’s request and challenged their motives for wanting to know the president’s IQ.
These voices of opposition have cited Mr President’s doctorate degree in Zoology as adequate proof that his IQ is probably at least normal, if not better. But members of the Free Naija Group are not satisfied and have countered the President’s defenders by quoting a long list of utterances credited to the President.
“We are not attempting to disparage the President,” said the spokesperson for the group, “But if he has nothing to hide, why doesn’t he just let us know his IQ score? It’s not like we’re asking him to declare his assets.”
