Aluta a-stopa!
Abuja - The minister of propaganda communication, Labaran Maku, has categorically stated that he is in fact not the same Labaran Maku that once was the student union government president ofuniversity ofJos.
Claiming that the Labaran Maku who was theSUGpresident at Jos has no relation what so ever to him and in fact died on may 29 1999. This is curiously the same date that the current minister was sworn in as deputy governor of Nassarawa state.
Speaking to newsmen at his office inAbuja, the minister said the formerSUGpresident was a radical extremist who would go to any extent to challenge to excesses of government. He claimed that this was far from what he stood for and described as unfortunate the fact that they share the same name.
The minister stated that an examination of the policy positions of himself and of Labaran Maku will prove beyond reasonable doubt that they are unquestionably two different people.
An investigation by wazobiareport.com has given credibility to the information minister’s claim as a critical examination of both men’s policy standings has revealed irreconcilable differences thereby affirming the impossibility of Labaran Maku and Labaran Maku being the same person despite the striking resemblance.
On fuel subsidy for example, Labaran Maku in 1988 described the attempts by then military dictator, Ibrahim Babangida, to remove subsidies as “a crime against the Nigerian masses and a war against the poor” while the Labaran Maku of 2011 has said that fuel subsidy removal is “long overdue” and should have been done by subsequent regimes.
Wazobiareport.com is therefore in full concurrence with the information minister that he is indeed not related in any way to the former student leader.
