"No, you may not have your votes back," INEC tells GEJ supporters

Abuja - INEC has told supporters of Mr President who voted for him in the last election that they cannot have their votes back.
"Once a vote is cast, it is cast and that's it," said INEC.
This clarification became necessary when a group of disillusioned voters besieged the INEC office asking whether they could a) have their votes back, or b) cast their already cast votes for someone else.
Malam Shinkafi speaking for the group, told reporters:
"Our people say it brings bad luck to waste your vote, which is why we have come here today to ask for our votes to be returned to us.
"It is not that we don't support Mr Jonathan, in fact, we don't mind for him to remain president, but we want our votes back because it is bringing bad luck."
The presidency has since responded to this new development by appointing a special panel to look into the misguided concept of wasted-votes. This brings to a total of just over 100, the number of special panels set up by the current administration since being sworn in.
